Angels — Al-Malāʾikah
Assalamu Alaikum,
Right now, there’s an entire creation of Allah around us that we can’t see. No, this isn’t the opening scene of a sci-fi movie.
We’re talking about angels.
Belief in angels is part of our iman—and the Qur’an and Sunnah give us some fascinating glimpses into this unseen world.
☕ THE MORNING SIP
Angels are creations of Allah made from light. They don’t eat, sleep, or disobey Allah.
And they have jobs. A lot of jobs.
Jibril عليه السلام brought revelation to the prophets. Mikail عليه السلام is entrusted with matters related to rain and provision. Israfil عليه السلام will blow the Trumpet. Other angels record our deeds, take souls at death, guard Hell, and carry out countless commands known to Allah.
Basically, the unseen world is far more active than it looks.
📖 QUR’AN REFLECTION
Allah says:
“Over you are guardians, noble recorders, who know whatever you do.”
— Qur’an 82:10–12
Every day feels ordinary to us. Wake up. Work. Eat. Scroll. Repeat.
But Islam gives us another perspective: our actions are being recorded.
The good ones too. That quiet charity. The dhikr nobody heard. The haram you walked away from.
None of it disappears.
🌙 A FASCINATING DETAIL
The Prophet ﷺ taught that angels gather around people who remember Allah.
He also told us that angels pray for a person who remains in their place of prayer while waiting for the next prayer, asking Allah to forgive them and have mercy on them.
So while we often think of worship as something happening between us and Allah, there may be much more happening around us than we realize.
The unseen has a front-row seat.
🧠 QUICK SIP
Belief in angels changes the way you see an otherwise normal day. You're never really operating in an empty universe.
There is revelation delivered by angels, deeds recorded by angels, souls taken by angels, and eventually a Trumpet that will be blown by an angel.
The world we can see? Apparently, that's only part of the story.
🤲 DUA OF THE DAY
“Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”
— Qur’an 18:10
Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wa hayyi' lana min amrina rashada
☕ FINAL SIP
Angels remind us that reality is much bigger than what our eyes can detect.
There is an unseen world operating entirely by Allah’s command and one day, what is unseen to us now will become very real.
Turns out, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.
Until tomorrow,
Stay steadfast on the Straight Path.
